How Superflip works

  1. Space deals a scramble (official random-state, via cubing.js).
  2. The timer starts on your first turn, with no ritual and hands staying on the keys.
  3. Turn with your bound keys (see Settings) or by dragging a layer with the pointer. Dragging empty space orbits the camera; it never changes the cube.
  4. The timer stops itself the instant the cube is solved. Ao5/Ao12 use the standard drop-best-and-worst average.
  5. Escape abandons a solve, and it records as a DNF ("did not finish"), which counts against your averages the official way: one DNF in an Ao5 is dropped as your worst time; two make the average itself a DNF.
  6. Rotations (x, y, z) are real moves, like regripping a physical cube, so R always turns the layer on the cube's right, wherever the colors have gone. During inspection (before your first turn) rotations are free and don't start the timer.
  7. ? shows the key map for your current layout. The chip by the cube switches between the simple and two-hand layouts. Every key is rebindable in Settings.
  8. Delete any time with the × next to it in the list. The ⟲ button resets the cube to solved whenever you've twisted yourself into a knot.

Solved means solved-as-a-cube: any orientation counts, center twists don't. Every solve stores its full move log with timestamps, so your history can support replays and analysis later without losing old solves.
